In their first ever Twitter Party, BellaBoo Skin Care Products and Monique teamed up to address the issue of self-esteem, an issue that hits home for the budding activist. Monique opened up, in 140 characters or less at a time, how critiques and self-esteem issues have affected her life while in the spotlight. She recalled that “during HSM2 I gained weight & sometimes was referred to as the “bigger” girl & it hurt.” and that she “dealt with this by looking around & realizing how much I had to be grateful for…and recognizing that self worth has nothing to do with size”

The discussion lasted just over an hour, focusing on how girls are affected and how we can help boost their self-esteem. Go search the term #bellaboo on twitter and see more of the conversation. And be sure to check out Bellaboo‘s full line of ALL NATURAL skin care products to help you put your best face forward!

As you probably saw in her tweets yesterday, Monique attended Grammy Camp to observe the workshops and interview a few big names. She tweeted pictures as she interviewed Adam Levine & Jesse Carmichael from Maroon 5 and about listening to Colbie Caillat speak to the youth in attendance. And while she didn’t tweet about it, we found a blog from Grammy Camp of one lucky kid, Shawn Handy, who decided he wanted to network and ended up as an interview for Gimme Mo.’

He blogged: “Networking is a key element I knew and GRAMMY Camp® has taught us more about building relationships. I had the opportunity to meet with Monique Coleman of High School Musical. I said to myself, ‘She looks important, I must network with her.’ ‘Hello, my name is Shawn Handy. May I have a moment of your time?’…I am truly blessed that Monique took the interest into me to interview me.”

You can read Shawn’s entire blog entry here. We can’t wait to see that interview.

Also, check out the pictures from Mo’s twitter in the gallery!

If you follow Monique on her twitter, you know she is a big “re-tweeter” of Inspire Me Today, and account that tweets short inspirational quotes. On their main website, Inspire Me Today features all sorts of inspirational material and on Monday, their daily brilliance and featured luminary was none other than Monique Coleman. Chosen because the host feels she is an excellent role model and that “teens and tweens” look for her for guidance and advice, Monique gave some truly inspirational words.

You can check out the interview here or click read more to see it here!

If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I’d want to pass along to others…

Life is really a lot simpler than it seems. We typically make things more complicated than they need to be. Don’t take anything or anyone (especially yourself) too seriously. Someone once said to me “Nothing is life or death, unless it is literally life or death.” I have found this to be true.

RELAX. Remember that you always have a choice in how you react to things. You can let challenging situations or circumstances hold you back, or you can allow them to propel you forward. If you live your life knowing that everything is happening for you instead of to you, you’ll start to see the opportunity for miracles through adversity, and GROW.

Learn to let go. When something no longer serves you, let it go. You have to make room for your dreams. Holding on to things, situations, or people out of fear will only create a barrier between you and your deepest desires.

HAVE FAITH. One of my favorite quotes on faith says “When you come to end of all the light you know and its time to step into the darkness of the unknown. Faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen. Either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught to fly.”-Edward Teller.

BELIEVE. Believe in yourself. Believe that you were given your unique talents because you’re meant to succeed. Believe that no matter what, you are divinely protected. Go with the flow. Allow yourself to be lead.

SMILE. Start each day with gratitude.

BE THANKFUL for all that you are today and everything that you will become. Say thank you. Often. Even when things don’t go the way you planned or you’re faced with obstacles, remember that someone somewhere is going through far worse.

BE KIND especially in your thoughts. There is always a nice way to do something. Commit to taking the high road.

APOLOGIZE. Don’t judge others or yourself harshly. Use your words to uplift people never to shame them. Always do your best.

PLAY. Be a beacon of light for others. Any chance you get to make someone’s day or ease someone’s burden take it! When you look at your life (which you should often) look for the laughter, but don’t ignore the tears.

CRY. Don’t hold things in. Bottled up emotions will only make you sick. Let it out. All of it.

FORGIVE. Forgive yourself for all mistakes and shortcomings, also forgive others. Never lose sight of the big picture. You are so blessed to be alive right now.

Remember to BREATHE. Eat well…take naps…invite abundance to dinner…stretch…pray….create….make eye contact…dare to dream…You are a being with limitless possibilities.

Find your wings, spread them, and always LOVE with your whole heart.

Around here, we covet after Monique’s shoe collection. To the point that it is potentially unhealthy. But you know, girl’s got GOOD taste in shoes. We find ourselves often saying “WE WANT THOSE!”

Well, here’s our chance, or your chance if you’d like to outbid us Monique has donated a pair of G&G Wellington Boots to a Clothes Off Our Back auction benefiting Hillsides. Hillsides is a foster care children’s charity that serves children and families in crisis living in Los Angeles County.

Unfortunately these auctions don’t run at low prices and on behalf of them, we would like to remind you not to bid unless you are a serious bidder and can afford to buy the item.

Here’s a picture of the shoes (autographed, mind you) up for bid. You can find the auction here and keep in mind, there are a BUNCH of other celebrity shoes for auction as well!

But before Monique had a chance to rock it, Jessalyn Gilsig of Glee donned the same dress.
